Rocco W. De Prospo, a lifelong Worcester resident and Master Electrician passed away Monday, September 21st 2009 surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. Rocco was born in Worcester, a son of the late Oreste and Mary (Campanale) De Prospo, graduated from Worcester Boys Trade, entered the U.S. Army during World War II to serve his country. Upon returning he earned his degree from the Massachusetts School of Radio and Television in Boston. Rocco was a licensed Master Electrician, he worked for the former St. Vincent Hospital on Heywood St. and owned and operated his own electrical business many years before retiring. Rocco is survived by his wife and partner of 52 years, Patricia A. (Power) De Prospo; his cherished three daughters, Maryanne T. De Prospo, Patricia C. De Prospo and Carol E. Lee and her husband Dennis; Patricia Caradonna; two adored grandchildren, Kate and Rob Joachim; a brother, Anthony De Prospo and his wife Doris; two sisters, Camille Dupont and Beatrice Desrosiers and her husband Ronald; a sister in law, Joyce (Smith) De Prospo; many nieces and nephews. A brother, Ernest De Prospo pre deceased him. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 24th at 1 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 11:30 to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
