Ann L. (Mooney) Morrissey Biggins, 73, wife of Thomas J. Biggins, Jr., of Shrewsbury, entered into her eternal rest on August 17, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Ann was the daughter of Miles and Margaret (O'Hara) Mooney of Holden, MA. She graduated Holden High School in 1953, Anna Maria College in 1957, and did graduate work in library sciences. She worked as a librarian in the Worcester public schools, director of alumni relations at Anna Maria College, and she retired from the Shrewsbury Free Public Library as head of adult services in 1997. She was active in the Anna Maria College Alumni Association. She is a long time member of the faith community of St. Anne's Church and she was a Passionist Associate of the Passionist Monastery. She is survived by first husband, John (Jack) Morrissey and their seven children: Marie (John) Woodward of Rotterdam, NY, Peggy (Ed) Miller of Hollywood, FL, John (Michelle) Morrissey of Auburn, MA, Miles (Deirdre) Shea Morrissey of Easthampton, MA, Ellen (Thom) Broadhurst of Easthampton, MA, Denise (Bob) Riggs of Easthampton, MA, Deirdre (Joe) Morrissey-Barrett of Clinton, MA. She is also survived by two sisters, Margaret (Peggy) (husband, Joe) Layden of Berwyn, PA, Edith (Tom) LaVigne of East Dennis, MA and Jupiter, FL. and a brother Bill (Mary) Mooney of Blue Springs, MO, She is also survived by her husband Tom's children: Mary (Don) Taft of Brandon, SD, Tom (Donna) Biggins of Sudbury, MA, Bob (Chris) Biggins of Hanson, MA, Dan (Lynn) Biggins of Worcester, MA, Ann (Randy) Hulette of Falls Church, VA, Joe (Kerrie) Biggins of Acton, MA, 32 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Ann's funeral will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester, MA with a Mass of Christian burial at 10AM in St Anne's Church 130 Boston Tpke. Shrewsbury, MA. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 4-8PM on Friday August 21, 2009. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
