Susan Marie Thorpe

Susan M. (Monfreda) Thorpe, 54, of Holden died peacefully Monday August 17, 2009 surrounded by her loving family in the Rose Monahan Residence. Susan is survived by her husband of 30 years Forrest F. Thorpe Jr. her father Louis Monfreda of Worcester, two sons Forrest F. Thorpe lll, and his wife Jessica of Paxton, Anthony J. Thorpe of Holden, a brother Louis Monfreda and his wife Karen of Sterling, her mother in law Marie(Bregola) Carney of Oxford, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Susan was born in Worcester daughter of Louis and the late Carmella (Marchese) Monfreda and lived in Worcester many years before moving to Holden. She was a graduate of North High School. Susan was an Administrative Assistant at the Devereux Foundation for many years. She was a member of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, The American Cancer Society, and was a long time devotee of San Vitaliano. Susan enjoyed playing bocce, cooking, and baking. She was a devoted wife, mother, and daughter who will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Susan's funeral will be held Thursday August 20, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11AM in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 5-8PM on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
