Raymond A. Therrien, 56, of Worcester, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Raymond is survived by his cherished daughters, Jaclyn A. Therrien and Kaila R. Therrien, both of Worcester. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia (Grady) Therrien of Worcester; five brothers, Robert Therrien, Richard Therrien, Roy Therrien, and Roch Therrien, all of Worcester and Rick Therrien of Auburn; three sisters, Michelle Balsavich, Suzette Macaruso, and Irene Pisani, all of Worcester; his former wife, Cynthia A. (McMahon) Therrien of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Mario Threrrien, Roland Therrien, Jr., and Roger Therrien. Born in Worcester, son of the late Roland Therrien. He lived here all his life and graduated from Worcester's North High School and Worcester State College. He served his nation proudly in the United States Navy, as a sailor in the Navy Sea Bees. Mr. Therrien worked as a housing rehabilitation specialist for the Cities of Worcester, Brookline, and Marlborough. He was a member of Brown Square Civic Club, the Acadia White Eagle Club, The Fraternal Order of Eagle's and Post 3 Italian American War Veterans. The funeral for Mr. Therrien will be held Wednesday, August 12, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church (formerly St. Joseph), 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 11, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
