Winnie F. (Brown) Woodson, 74, formerly of Austin Street in Worcester, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009, in Saint Mary Healthcare. Her husband of fifty-eight years, Walter A. "Juny" Woodson, passed away in September 2008. Winnie is survived by her loving family; her son, Walter A. "Butch" Woodson, III and his wife Rosetta D. Woodson; a daughter, Marsha L. Jackson, all of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers and four sisters, Mack Brown Jr., William Brown, Bertha Biddings, Pearl Skeeters, Viola Adams, Thelma Thomas and Callie Durley. Winnie was born in Niagra Falls, New York the daughter of Mack and Mamie (Web) Brown, and came to reside in Worcester in 1957. Mrs. Woodson worked as an assembler for Jamesbury Corporation for many years. She had been a member of Belmont A.M.E. Zion Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping, fishing and travel. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 7, at 10 a.m. in the Heritage II section of Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
