Antonio L. Clas, 57, of Worcester, died peacefully Monday, August 3, 2009 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Delmi D. (Salazar) Clas; a son Antonio Clas of Puerto Rico; a daughter, Claribel Clas of Florida; his mother, Generosa (Muniz) Clas of Worcester; two brothers, Juan Clas of Florida and Angel Medina of Worcester; two sisters, Isabel Rosario and Rosa Clas, both of Worcester; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves a dear friend, Aida Forty. He is predeceased by three brothers, Francisco Clas, Ramon Clas, Angel R. Medina and one sister, Carmen Clas. Antonio was born in Manati, Puerto Rico on February 6, 1952, and son of the late Juan Clas. He has lived in Worcester for over 35 years. Tony worked for over thirty years at Standard Lock Washer and Manufacturing, where his took great pride in what he did. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially his garden and feeding the backyard birds. He will always be remembered for his big generous heart. A funeral service will be held Friday August 7th at 10:00 a.m. in MERCADATNE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 6th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
