Donna M Ruggieri

Donna M. (Bastardo) Ruggieri, 63, a longtime resident of Paxton, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in St. Vincent Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-five years, George J. Ruggieri. Mrs. Ruggieri is also survived by her three beloved sons, Kevin Kelly of Worcester, Stephen Kelly and his wife Ann-Marie of Jefferson and Christopher Kelly and his wife Sandra of Worcester; two brothers, F. William Bastardo of Worcester and Bernard "Bernie" Bastardo of Worcester; a sister, Sandra Pazooki of Worcester; five stepchildren, Michael Ruggieri of Worcester, Mark Ruggieri of Falmouth, Danny Ruggieri of Worcester, Christine Caron of Hubbardston and Gina Ruggieri of Leicester; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Dustin, Kyle, Joshua, Zachary, Brianna and Caitlyn and many nieces and nephews. A stepson, David Ruggieri predeceased her. Donna, daughter of the late Verlardine "Benny" and Mary (Brown) Bastardo, was born in Worcester on June 18, 1946. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She was a life time member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel - St. Ann Church. Donna was always there to help the church, teaching CCD for several years and participating in many of the CYC functions through out the years. Mrs. Ruggieri worked for over 19 years as a Coordinator for Volunteer Services at UMASS Memorial Healthcare. In accordance with Donna's wishes, she was cremated. There are no calling hours. There will be a memorial Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel - St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St, at 11 am, Tuesday July 28th. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel - St. Ann Church, CYC Program, c/o Joan D'Argenis, 28 Mulberry St., Worcester, MA 01605.
