Roosevelt "Dee" Carter, 76 of Worcester passed away home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 12th 2009 in the St. Francis Home surrounded by love ones. Roosevelt was born February 5th 1933 in Tunica, Mississippi, son of the late Rev. Robert Carter, Sr. He moved to Worcester in 1962 and has lived here ever since. Roosevelt leaves to morn his passing, his mother, Florine (Norman) Carter; seven children and two stepchildren, Maylean TranJimmy in Mexico, Sandra Carter of Worcester, Brenda Carter-Evans and her husband Lowell of Sunflower Miss, , Jerry Carter and his wife of Texas , Frederick Carter of Groton, MA, Bruce Carter of Georgia , Nathan Carter and his wife Tonya of Worcester; two stepchildren, Shellia Adams-Ross and her husband John of Philadelphia, Larry Abney and his wife Ellen of Worcester; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four brothers, Joseph "Joe" Carter and Robert Carter, Jr both of Worcester, Paul Carter of Milwaukee, and David L. Carter of Chicago; four sisters Lazora Carter of Worcester, Stevemae Carter of Milwaukee, Linda Joan Carter and Reola Carter both of Sunflower Miss, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins extended family and many friends; a sister, Florita Carter predeceased him; Roosevelt worked in as a machine operator for several manufacturing companies in the Worcester area including Wyman Gordon and Come Play Products before retiring. Roosevelt was a 32nd degree mason of the Sons of David Lodge. He loved to tinker with cars and to fish. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 17th at 11:00 a.m. in Mt Olive Pentecostal Church, 60 Highland St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A calling hour will be held in the church Friday, July 17th from 10 to 11 am prior to the service.
