Albino Mari, 86, of Worcester died peacefully Friday July 10, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Albino is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Paola (Vernachi) Mari, a son Arthur Mari of Worcester, a brother Luigi Mari and his wife Anna of Worcester, a sister Maria (Mari) Quanta, a grand daughter Lisa and her husband Chad, a great grand daughter Lia, and several nephews, nieces, and other family members. Albino was born in Piacenza, Italy son of the late Alberto and Giuseppina (Lavecchia) Mari and came to the United States in 1955 where he settled in Worcester. Albino worked as a foreman at the Worcester Chrome Manufacturing Company for 35 years before he retired. At one time he also worked for the B. Plastics DiPierro Manufacturing Company. He was a long time member of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church. He loved working around his home and garden, but most of all being with his family he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday July14, at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. There are no calling hours and Entombment will be private at Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St is assisting the family with arrangements.
