Alana J. Thomas, 63, of Worcester, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2009 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home, surrounded by her devoted and loving family. Alana is survived by her three children, Michael F. Trafecante and his wife Mary of Connecticut, Derrick J. Trafecante of West Boylston and Carleen Trafecante of Worcester, her former husband, Carlo M. Trafecante of Worcester; two brothers, Dennis Thomas of Worcester and Steven Thomas of Alaska; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild; many nieces and nephews; her sister friends, Sue Tavano, Kathy Triola and Judy Shute and her God Parents, Caroline and Lucian Obrabicz. She is predeceased by her sister, Carol Currier. Ms. Thomas was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Peter and Isabel (Menengas) Thomas, and has lived here all her life. She graduated from North High School. Alana worked as a clerk for the Worcester Register of Deeds for over eight years and as a Front End Supervisor for Stop & Shop for over twenty years. She enjoyed traveling but most of all she treasured the times she spent with her grandchildren. Alana's funeral will be held Monday, June 29th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 12 noon at St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Sunday, June 28th in the funeral home.
