Robert L. Lenois, 79, of Worcester died peacefully Monday June 1, 2009 in the UMASS Memorial Hospital University Campus surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 52 years Anna G. (Micillo) Lenois died July 1, 2007. Robert is survived by his three daughters LuAnn LeFever and her husband Curtis of Athol, Cathy M. Conway with whom he lived, and Lisa Beckwith of Athol. Five grandchildren; Ann-Marie Martell, Jacqueline Checkosky, Samantha Conway, Robert Germain, and David Beckwith, six great grandchildren; Matthew, Michael, and Morgan Martell, Jackson Checkosky, Cody and Mallory Anna Germain, and nephews and nieces. Robert was born in Springfield son of Ralph E. and Agnes N. (Currier) Lenois and came to Worcester many years ago. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War with the 101st Infantry Screaming Eagles. Robert was a long time member of the Local Teamsters #170 and was a truck driver for various companies including the New York & Worcester Freight Company, The Eastern Freight Company and the Anchor Freight Company. After he retired he enjoyed working at Diamond Chevrolet and was still working up until his illness. Robert was a long time member of Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church. He enjoyed fishing, and a good day at the Casino. He loved his job driving. But most of all being with his family. He will be missed dearly. Robert's funeral will be held Friday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St.with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:AM in Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held from 5-8PM on Thursday June 4. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
