Ann Marie (Breen) Sweeney, 53, of Maywood Street in Worcester, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, in her home, with loving family at her side. She is survived by her husband, Donald Sweeney, III; a son, Sean J. Dubois of Holyoke; a daughter Michaela Belsito and her husband Joseph of Worcester; her mother, Janice (Delarme) Collins and her husband Vern of Ashby; her father, Thomas Breen and his wife Carole G. (Clark) Breen of Groton; three brothers, Thomas Breen of Lunenburg, James Breen of Ashby, and Jeremiah Breen of North Carolina; two sisters, Katherine Dewar of West Brookfield and Janice DiPietro of Connecticut; two grandsons, Jacob and Salvatore Belsito; many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Elizabeth Vega in April 2008. Ann Marie was born in Worcester and has lived here all her life. She graduated from the former Marian High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College. Ann Marie was not only a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, but also a tireless worker and business owner. She owned and operated ASAP Laundromat in Worcester. She enjoyed baseball, especially the Red Sox, crossword puzzles, and gardening. She had a passion for reading novels by Stephen King, a trait she passed on to her daughter and grandchildren. Although she had many passions, it was her grandchildren that brought her the most joy. A funeral service will be held Monday, May11 at 5 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Calling hours will be held Monday afternoon from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the funeral home, immediately prior to the funeral service.
