Mary Louise (Trotta) Blum, 72 of Shrewsbury passed away Saturday, May 2nd 2009 in the Beaumont at University Commons Skilled Nursing Facility, in Worcester. Mary's husband Winfield Blum passed away in 1991. She is survived by her three children, a daughter Lisa Sweet and her sons Evan and Avery of Auburn ; two sons, Michael, his wife Teresa and their children Julia, Nicolette, and Tyler all of Shrewsbury; Christian, his wife Tracey and their son Camden all of Grafton; two sisters, Eleanor Krafve of Cedar Hill, MO and Jean Dunn of Worcester, a brother William "Bill" Trotta and his wife Wendy of Paxton, many nieces and nephews. A sister Dorothy "Dodi" Dailida passed away December 18th; Two brothers, John A. Trotta and Richard Trotta, also predeceased her. Mary was born in Worcester and has lived in and around the city her entire life. She was a member of a number of clubs and enjoyed greatly the time spent with family. She also cherished the time spent with those who resided with her at Francis Gardens of Shrewsbury and the time she spent living in Auburn, and on Cape Cod. Mary worked in a number of different occupations over the course of her life. She had an enthusiasm for life and a passion for those she loved. The family would like to thank the staff at Beaumont for the comforting care received by Mary during her time there. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The MERCANDANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
