Eva A. (Asselin) Pinto, 98, of Worcester passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 5th 2009 in the Radius Healthcare Center. Eva's husband of 68 years, Antonio Pinto passed away in 1995. She is survived by her devoted daughter and best friend, Eva M. Rourke of Worcester; three grandchildren, Janice E. Freda of Enfield CT, Karen D. Caruso of Providence RI, and Paul D. Rourke and his wife Wendy of Worcester; two great grandsons, Christopher and Jeramie Freda; a great great grandson, Chase; a brother, Edward Asselin of Paxton; a sister, Rita Scarry; many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Francis, William, and Joseph Asselin and two sisters, Emma Letourneau and Ida Bruso all pre deceased her. Eva was born in Saxonville, Mass a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Breton) Asselin and has lived her all her life. Eva worked s a machine operator for H.H.Brown Shoe Company before retiring in 1970. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church. Eva was a quiet, simple woman who cherished her daughter and grandchildren; she loved to talk with them, and just simply be with them. The family of Eva would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Radius Healthcare and Alliance Hospice for the Comfort, care and compassion they gave to Eva. The funeral will be held Friday, May 8th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in St Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, May 7th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Worcester.
