Rosina M Bears

Rosina M. "Rose" (Protano) Bears, 93, of Marlborough, formerly of 43 Dillon St Worcester passed away Tuesday, April 28th 2009 surrounded by her family. Rosina is survived by her devoted daughter, Ann Pelletier, Hudson of Marlborough; five grandchildren, Lynn and her husband Gabe, Maureen and her husband Jefferey, Debra and her husband Thomas, Peter and his wife Melissa, and Roseann; eleven great grandchildren, Jessica, Adam. Joseph, Tricia, Bruce Jr., Tony, Josh, Jeremy, Emilie, Jake and Jarod; a great great granddaughter, Hailey; several extended family and friends. A grandson, Michael Hudson passed away in 1975. Rose was born in Worcester, a daughter of Michael and Maria (Gaudenzi) Protano. She grew up and lived in Worcester most of her life before moving to Marlborough. Rose worked in the Dietary Department of Worcester City Hospital many years before retiring. Rose attended the former Notre Dame Church. She was a member and volunteer of the Salvation Army, and the Young at Heart Senior Club. Rose enjoyed ceramics and gardening. She cherished her family especially her grand and great grandchildren. They were her inspiration and enjoyment. The funeral will be held Friday, May 1st from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, April 30th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
