Camella M. (D'Elia) Dintini, 95, of Worcester formerly of Southbridge passed on to eternal life with our Lord Monday April 6, 2009 in St. Vincent Hospital.Her husband Fernando Dintini died in 1991. She is survived by three sisters; Mary Biscotti, Ann Iandoli, both of Worcester, and Louise Graziano of Mentor Ohio, a brother Charles D'Elia and his wife Clara of Shrewsbury, a sister in law Eileen D'Elia, of Worcester and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers Ralph "Jack" D'Elia and Joseph D'Elia, and three sisters Rita McGlamery, Rose Palumbo, and Theresa McCarthy. Camella was born in Worcester daughter of the late Pasquale and Theresa (Lopardo) D'Elia and was graduate of Commerce High School. She earned her Masters Degree in Education from Worcester State College. Shortly after her marriage to Fernando. Camella moved to Southbridge and taught at the Charlton Street Elementary School where she became the principle. Camella was the acting Superintendent of Southbridge Public Schools for many years before she retired and returned to Worcester. She was awarded a Certificate of Honor in the Quiz Kids Best Teacher Contest, and was also Honored by the Massachusetts Senate for her dedication to the Students of Southbridge. She also received an award from the Southbridge Fire Department for her service to the Junior Fire Marshall program. She was a long time member of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church and it's Golden Years Club, The Massachusetts Teachers Association, and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army Worcester Corps. She enjoyed traveling and being with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Camella's funeral will be held Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Liturgy Of The Word service at 11AM in Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 5-8PM on Wednesday (tonight) Entombment will be in St. Johns. Mausoleum.
