Alice R. (Bishop) Delorto, 95, o Shrewsbury, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 in the Millbury Healthcare Center. Her husband of sixty-nine years, Leo Delorto, predeceased her in March of 2001. Born on May 5, 1913 in Orange, Vermont, Alice was the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Gingras) Bishop and graduated from Holy Name of Jesus School. She worked for many years as a stitcher for the former Whittall Carpet Mill. She was a long time member of St. Anne's Church. She was great cook and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Alice's family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to all the devoted staff of Millbury Healthcare Center, for their loving and devoted care shown to Alice. Alice is survived by her son, George L. Delorto and his wife Barbara of Worcester; four grandchildren, Leo Delorto, Tina Delorto, Maureen Delorto and Lisa Delorto and one great grandchild Kane Harper. She was pre deceased by five brothers, Albert Bishop, Peter Bishop, Lawrence Bishop, Victor Bishop and George Bishop and five sisters, Eva Malloy, Vivian Macaruso, Cecelia Mungovan, Bernadette Millett and Mary DeMaris. A funeral Mass celebrating Alice's life will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Alice by way of a memorial tribute are kindly asked to consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
