Laura E. (Carbone) Baranauskas, 86, of Shrewsbury, passed away, Saturday, March 28, 2009 in Saint Vincent Hospital. Her husband of thirty-three years, Albert J. Baranauskas, pre-deceased her in 1978. Laura is survived by her two sons, Paul A. Baranauskas and his wife Carol of West Boylston and Lawrence J. Baranauskas and his wife Lori of Milford; two brothers, Lawrence Carbone in Texas and Joseph Carbone in Mexico; four grandchildren, Kimberly Pullen and her husband Doug Norht Carolina, Scott Baranauskas of San Diego, Loren Baranauskas of Shrewsbury and Andrew Baranauskas of Milford; four great grandchildren, Alexander Pullen, Christina Duggan, Nicholas and Christopher Lazzaro, and their parents Cheryl Lazzaro and her husband John; many nieces and nephews. Laura was pre-deceased by three sisters, Grace Baldino, Rose Keith, and Ann Marie Soloperto. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Angelo and Teresa (Stellato) Carbone. She graduated from Worcester High School of Commerce and Salter Secretarial College. Laura worked as an Executive Secretary for many years, retiring in 1983 after serving as Secretary to The President of Dapol Plastics for over twenty-one years. She had previously worked as Secretary to The President of Table Talk Pie. She was a member of Saint Anne's Church in Shrewsbury. Laura's family would like to thank the wonderful people at Saint Vincent Hospital, especially the doctors, nurses, and aides in the ICU and PCU, for their love and caring. The funeral for Mrs. Baranauskas will be held Thursday, April 2, at 10 a.m. in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 1, from 5 p.m. unitl 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
