Ferris Salem Jr.50 of Worcester died unexpectedly Saturday February 28, 2009 at his Mothers home in Worcester. Ferris is survived by his loving family: his mother Dorothy (Grandmaison) Salem, two brothers John Salem of Worcester, and William Salem and his wife Rebecca of Auburn, six sisters Mary Kerbel and her husband Charles of Upton, Joann Lundin, Carol Morrissey, Barbara Sprino and her husband David, Rose Esposito, and Dorothy Francis and her husband Wayne all of Worcester. Twelve nephews and nieces and three great nephews and great nieces and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Ferris Salem Sr. Ferris was born in Worcester and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School, and at one time worked at The Stove Place in Shrewsbury. He was a member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral.Ferris enjoyed working on cars, but was most happy when he was with his family.He had a humorous personality and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Ferris's funeral will be held Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St with a service at 10:00AM in St. George Orthodox Cathedral 30 Anna St. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 5-8PM on Wednesday. A Trisagion Service will be held at 5:30PM. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery.
