Rosemary G. (Gordon) McManus, 90, of Worcester died peacefully Friday February 13, 2009 in the Beaumont at University Nursing Home. She is survived by her loving family; a son Charles E. McManus Jr. and his wife Rebecca of St. Paul, MN. A daughter Charlotte Adams of Worcester with whom she lived, two grandchildren, Ian of Denver Colorado, and Aria Rose of St. Paul. Six brothers Louis Gordon of Wakefield, Lowell Gordon of Dorchester, Alfred Gordon of East Sandwich, Robert Gordon of Wolaston, Leonard Gordon of N.H. and Walter Gordon of Boston an aunt Irene Vatcher of Cape Breton, and a life long friend Lillian Seaward of Ashby Cape Breton and several nephews and nieces. Rosemary was predeceased by a sister Cecelia MacInnis, and three brothers Harry, Charles, and Richard Gordon. Her former husband Charles E. McManus died in 2002. She was born in Cape Breton Nova Scotia daughter of the late Clarence and Hilda (Ward) Gordon and came to Massachusetts many years ago. She lived in Brookline for many years before moving to the Worcester area 30 years ago. Rosemary was a graduate of the Cambridge Training School for Nurses class of "43" and was a Nurse for many years at the former Longwood Hospital in Brookline before she retired. Rosemary enjoyed bowling, crocheting, golf, and was an avid doll collector and loved to read. She really enjoyed a good cup of coffee and lobster dinners. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Rosemary's funeral will be held Friday February 20, at 11AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Calling hours will be held Friday morning only from 9AM to the time of service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
