Isabel M. (Brousseau) Mercadante, 90, of Gilford, N.H. formerly of West Boylston passed away Friday, February 6th 2009 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital. Isabel was born in Worcester, a daughter of Arthur and Pauli (Sawicki) Brousseau. She grew up in Worcester, lived in Shrewsbury, and West Boylston, Lake Shore Park, Florida and maintained residence more than 50 years in Gilford, N.H. "Lake Winnipesaukee" spending summers and winters vacationing there before becoming a permanent residence after retirement. Isabel is survived by her husband and partner of 69 years, Vincent "Jimmy" Mercadante; two sons, Paul Mercadante and his wife Sheila, Rocco Mercadante and his wife Roberta all in South Carolina; a daughter Jane Lindberg and her husband Richard of West Boylston; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A brother, Arthur Brousseau, Jr. and two sisters, Evelyn Anderson and Olga Kokernak all pre deceased her. Isabel had many interests in her life, some of which included arts, crafts and cooking, especially sharing her favorite recipes. She and her husband enjoyed the offerings of Lake Winnipesaukee; snowmobiling in the winter, golfing, boating and camping in the summers. Her family was her passion though. She enjoyed spending time with them especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be greatly missed. A memorial service for Isabel will be held Tuesday, February 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St. Worcester. Burial in Mt Vernon Cemetery will be private. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, February 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home prior to the service.
