Sharon E. (Kane) Parker, 68, of Oakview Street in Worcester, passed away, Thursday, January 29, 2009, in UMass Hospital. She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of forty-seven years, George E. Parker; five children, Stephen G. Parker with whom she lived, Kimberly E. Fenner of Worcester, Saundra L. Witz of Petersham, Shannon M. LeBlanc of Leicester, and Jason E. Parker of Worcester; two brothers, Kevin Kane of North Chelmsford and Wayne Kane of Worcester; a sister, Susan Burke of Brunswick, Maryland; sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Sharon was pre-deceased by her sister Barbara Kramer. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Martin and Eleanor (Mullins) Kane and has lived here all her life; and was a graduate of Saint Peter's Grammar School and Worcester Sough High School. Sharon worked for many years in healthcare as a personal and nursing assistant, most recently retiring from UMass-Memorial Healthcare, She had previously worked for many years at Saint Vincent Hospital and Donna Kay Rest Home. She enjoyed B.I.N.G.O. and was very involved with Worcester Viking's Football with her grandchildren. She was a woman who enjoyed her family and found great joy in spending special times with her family, especially her grandchildren. The funeral for Sharon will be held Tuesday, February 3, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Monday, February 2, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
