Bella M. (Giuliano) Martinelli, 74 of Worcester died peacefully Monday January 26, 2009 in the Life Care Center of Auburn surrounded by her loving family. Bella is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years Rocco J. Martinelli, her caring children; sons Nicholas R. Martinelli and his wife Betty of Shrewsbury, Rocco J. Martinelli Jr. and his wife Jean of Oxford, Joseph P. Martinelli and his wife Shanon of Gulfport Missisippi, daughters Janina L. Mozer and her husband Richard of Oxford, and Lisa G. Caforio and her husband Joseph of Worcester. A sister Rita Rotolo of Shrewsbury, eleven grandchildren, and two great grandsons, and several nephews and nieces. Bella was born in Worcester daughter of Nicola and Lucia ( Sciascia) Giuliano and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Bella worked as a switchboard operator at Saint Vincents Hospital for many years before she retired. Previous to that she was an operator at the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. Bella was a long time member of Our Lady Of Loreto Church and it's women's Guild, and was also a member of the S.S. Maria Addorlorata Women's Society of Our Lady Of Sorrows. She enjoyed Cape Cod, a good day at the casino, bingo, and knitting, and was an avid Red Sox fan. But most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Bella's family would like to thank all the caregivers at the Life Care Center for their kindness and compassion shown to Bella and her family during her stay there. Bella's funeral will be held Saturday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in Our Lady Of Loreto Church 33 Massasoit Rd. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 5-8PM on Friday. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
