Martha Hopkins

Martha (Ricciardi) Hopkins, 86, of Worcester died peacefully Friday, January 23, 2009 in the UMASS Medical Center. Her husband George Hopkins died in 1999. Martha is survived by two sisters, Frances Terry of Worcester, and Lucy Belles of Oxford, a sister in law Rose Riccardi of Worcester and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers Michael and Pasquale Ricciardi, and two sisters Anne Gardner and Phyllis Ricciardi. Martha was born in Worcester daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina (Notarangelo) Ricciardi and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked as a seamstress at the Comfort Products Company for many years before she retired. She attended Our Lady of Fatima Church, and was a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church. She enjoyed bingo, going to Foxwoods, and loved her trips to Miami Beach. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A funeral service for Martha will be held Tuesday, at 10:00 A.M. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel 370 Plantation St., Worcester. A calling hour will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. prior to her funeral service. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
