Richard Bruce Brown Sr. of Barre, MA, passed away on January 18, 2009, at Christopher House, Worcester, MA. Richard was born August 26, 1931, in Worcester, MA, to Hadlin Harito Brown, and Jeannette Naomi Walker-Brown. He attended schools in Worcester, and graduated from Commerce High School. He worked at Harrington Richardson and was a Plant Manager at the Wright Line Co. in Worcester, MA, until retirement. After retirement he worked as a Bus Driver for Elder Bus Services, in Barre, MA. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Peterson) Brown of Barre MA; a brother Stephen Dana Brown, a sister Gail Elizabeth Brown both of Worcester; three children from his first marriage to Persis (Suza) Hazard-Stanton, Abdul Muwwakkil & his Wife Muslimah Salahuddin of Jacksonville, FL, John Brown & his Wife Sharon (Storms) of Johnson, RI, Persis Clinton & her husband David Clinton of Nokesville, VA; seven Grandchildren, nine Great-Grandchildren and over hundred nieces and nephews. He was a direct descendant of George Rome, of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment (depicted in the movie Glory). He enjoyed fishing and traveling throughout Maine. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA. Calling Hours will be held in the funeral home Saturday, January 24, 2009, from 9:00 -10:00AM, and the Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM.
