Elisabeth J Ginese

Elisabeth J. (Covotta) Ginese, 85, of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in her home, surrounded by her loving devoted family. Her husband, Joseph Ginese of 65 years passed away, January 21, 2008. She leaves two daughters, Maureen Mitchell of Worcester and Susan Reynolds and her husband Robert of Paxton; seven grandchildren, Michael Reardon and his girlfriend Katie, Katherine Reynolds, Lynn Raffa and her husband Steve, Tara Maguire and her husband Scott, Alaina Bisceglia, Robert and Jeff Mitchell; six great grandchildren, Gianna and Joseph Raffa, Emily and Brooke Maguire and Samantha and Caleb Mitchell; a brother Anthony Covotta with whom she lived; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends among them Pat Ginese and Emma Balboni. She was predeceased by her infant son, Joseph Ginese Jr.; three brothers, Paul, John and Joseph Covotta and a sister Pasqualina Covotta. Elisabeth was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Antonio and Raffaela (DeDonato) Covotta and has lived here all of her life. Betty was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed her frequent trips to Foxwoods. She was a fantastic cook who cherished her Sunday dinners with her family. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to all her caregivers; Dawn, Vicky, Paul, Tony and all of UMass Memorial Hospice and Gerry Germain. A funeral Mass celebrating Betty's life will be held on Monday, January 12th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel - Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to visit with Betty's family on Sunday, January 11th from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
