Pedro J. "Pee Wee" Torna, 56 of Worcester passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 1st 2009, in Umass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus. Pedro is survived by his beloved family. His son, Erik P. Torna and his wife Jennifer of Belchertown, his daughter, Natasha Santos and her husband Carlos of Miami Florida; four brothers, Miguel A. and Reynaldo Torna both of Ft. Myers Florida, Fernando H. and Luis L. Torna both of Worcester; four sisters, Deima and Georgina Torna and Mayra Aguiar all of Worcester and Ana C. Comas of Ft. Myers Florida; five grandchildren, Jacob and Aiden Torna, Jason, Branden and Carlos Santos; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends; two brothers, Manuel and Luis Torna, and two sisters Milagros Arencibia and Lucia V. Delgado all pre deceased him. Pedro was born in Caibarien Cuba, a son of Pedro and Ana M. "Raquel" (Plana) Torna, moving to Worcester in 1966. Pedro worked as a supervisor for the Phalo Corporation many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and the AFL-CIO United Steelworkers Union. Pedro had a passion for sports, especially baseball. He loved the Red Sox and Patriots; he enjoyed music, being with and around his family and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5th at 8:00 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Calling hours Monday January 5th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. prior to the service. The family request that flowers be omitted.
