Vincent G. Palermo, 55, of Sutton, died unexpectedly Tuesday December 30, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital after becoming ill at home. Vincent is survived by his loving family; his wife of 30 years Jane Y. (Hosking) Palermo, his father Marino "Marty" Palermo of Worcester, one son Vincent G. Palermo Jr. of Sutton, two daughters Alison M. Spar and her husband Geoffrey of Leominster, and Kate Y. Palermo of Chicago, two brothers George V. Palermo and his wife SallyAnn of North Grafton, and Frank M. Palermo and his wife Annmarie of Worcester, and a sister Amy A. Tomaiolo and her husband Leonard of Shrewsbury, several aunts and uncles among them Henry and Anna Cipro of Worcester, many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Vinny is also survived by his granddogs Coco and Bailey. Vincent was born in Worcester and was a graduate of Worcester Academy, and attended Assumption College. His mother was the late Yolanda (Pedone) Palermo. Vincent was a master plumber for many years for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 4 and was still working at the time of his passing. Vincent was also a long time member of St Mark's Catholic Church in Sutton. He loved Corvettes, enjoyed fishing and traveling, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family. He was a much loved husband, son, father and brother, and will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Vincent's funeral will be held Saturday January 3, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11AM in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament 555 Pleasant Street. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 4-8PM on Friday. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery.
