Dominick J. Bizzarro, 92, of 240 Belmont St (Seabury Heights) Worcester passed away on December 24, after a long illness. He leaves a daughter, Donna Elmes, a son, Anthony, two grandchildren, Keith Elmes and Gianna Bizzarro, a sister, Eleanor (Bizzarro) D'Elia, a brother, John Bizzarro, and several nieces and nephews all of Worcester. He also leaves many friends and acquaintances, especially at Seabury Heights Apartments in Worcester where he lived for the past eleven years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Fontina M. (Turturro) Bizzarro in 1997. Dominick was the son of Concetta (Clemente) and Antonio Bizzarro and lived in Worcester all of his life. He was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St Ann Church, East Side Improvement Club, and Knights of Columbus. An expediter for Cincinnati Milacron (Heald Machine Co.), he retired in 1979 after 39 years of service. He was a Technical Sergeant during World War II, serving in Belgium and France as part of the Army's 407th AAA Gun Battalion that defended Britain against buzz bomb (rocket) attacks. Dominick would like to be remembered as someone who put family, friends, and others first. He always took the time to help others in need and he practiced it daily in his life. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, fishing, cooking, and was a fan of local major league sports teams. He cherished and enjoyed the company of his wife, his family, especially his grandchildren, and friends. Calling hours are 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Saturday December 27th in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester.
