Alfred A Martocci

Alfred A. "Al" Martocci, 93, of Worcester died peacefully Friday December 19, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital. His wife Lea M. (Montana) Martocci died in 1997. Alfred is survived by a son John Martin and his wife Evelyn of Kissimmee Fl.. a retired Marine Corp Veteran, a daughter Joann Benoit of Worcester, several grandchildren among them Anthony Martocci and Lisa Gallivan both of Worcester, Christine Glinski, Debbie Janik, and Diane Harven, and nine great grandchildren including Jon Gallivan Jr. and Olivia Martocci, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son Peter Martin, a grandson Paul Martin USMC, and a brother and sister Anthony Martocci Sr., and Pasqualina Sacco. Alfred was born in Worcester son of the late Graziano and Grace (Cappola) Martocci and lived here all his life, and attended Worcester public schools. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Morgan Construction Company for many years before he retired. Al enjoyed gardening and just being on Shrewsbury St. talking with his many friends. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was a long time member of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel-St Ann Church. Alfred's funeral will be held Tuesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11AM in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be from 5-8PM on Monday. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Fisher House of Boston P O Box 230, Walpole, Ma. 02071.
