Thomas F. McMahon Jr., 59, a Vietnam War U.S. Marine, passed away Saturday, November 29th 2008, surrounded by family. Tom was born June 25th 1949, in Worcester. He attended North High School, entered the U.S. Marines and served two tours in Vietnam. Tom then lived many years in Honolulu Hawaii, owning and operating a restaurant named Honolulu Hotdogs and Deli. He later moved to California before returning to New England, residing in Worcester and South Yarmouth, and operating his own landscaping business on Cape Cod. Tom is survived by his parents Thomas F. McMahon, Sr. and Ruth (Carraher) McMahon of Worcester; a sister, Karen Demuth and her husband Daniel of Woodstock CT; two brothers, Harry McMahon and his wife Eleanor in Virginia, Richard McMahon and his wife Sheronna in Texas; many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching professional football, most of all the Patriots. A memorial funeral will be held Friday, December 5th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 11:30 a.m. in St Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Shrewsbury. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Friday, December 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
