Andrew Francis Manzi

Andrew Francis Manzi, 74, died peacefully October 4, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth (Hines) Manzi, a daughter Nina Marie Manzi, a son Andrew Edward Manzi, two sisters Barbara Oslowski and her husband Henry, Judy Stevens, and a brother Arthur Manzi, and many nephews, nieces, and friends. Andrew was born in Worcester son of the late Andrew F. and Grace Rose ( Scirpoli) Manzi.He was a graduate of North High School class of 1952. He attended Worcester Poly Tech. He served in the U.S. Army. He received his Associates Degree in Electronics Cum Laude in 1958 from Worcester Junior College. In November of 1958 he moved to San Diego with the General Electric Corporation as part of the Atlas Missile program. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degree from San Diego State College. He then started work at the Convair Division of General Dynamics were he spent his career until retiring in 1993. Andrew was a beloved and active member of his community where he served as a coach and president of the Clairemont Mesa Little League, and was a founder of the Hickman Youth Athletic Association. Andrew enjoyed traveling and made many friends where ever he went. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Funeral services were held on October 9, 2008 at the El Camino Sorrento Valley Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday November 29, 2008 at 9:30AM in St Anne's Church 130 Boston Turnpike Road, Shrewsbury. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St is assisting the family with local arrangements.
