Janet M Iacovone

February 9, 1943 — November 12, 2008

Janet M. (Rizzuti) Iacovone, 65, of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, November 12th 2008 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Janet is survived by her husband of 48 years Philip T. Iacovone; a son Philip M. Iacovone; two daughters, Donna Therrien and her husband Roy, Ellie Iacovone and her companion Gaetano; a brother, Michael Rizzuti; three sisters, Joann Scampini and Lois Buffone all of Worcester, and Patricia Pellerin of Oxford; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Kayla and R.J. Therrien, Giorgio, Gaetano and Maria Iacovone; a great grandson Adam; many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Teresa Iacovone passed away in 1985; a sister Eleanor Todd pre deceased her. She was born in Worcester her parents were Michael and Nellie (Bonds) Rizzuti and has lived here all her life. Janet worked over 18 years for Campi's Deli before retiring. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. The funeral will be held Monday, November 17th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral. The family requests that flowers be omitted
