Ruby Jewel (Jamerson) Hawkins, 75, of Auburn passed on home to her Lord, November 7th 2008, in the Autumn Village Long Term Care center. Ruby's husband Chester Hawkins passed away in 1989. She is survived by her eight children, Chester Hawkins, Jr. of Worcester, James Hawkins of Annapolis, MD, Robert Hawkins of Worcester, Sharon Richardson with whom she lived, Ricky Hawkins, Karen Hawkins, Tina Whaley and Duane Hawkins all of Worcester; four siblings; her brother, Jelester Jamerson; her three sisters, Rosemary Brown, Datia Starr and Marie Johnson; fifteen grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A sister, Nadine Jamerson pre deceased her. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, a daughter of Johnnie and Alice (Collins) Jamerson and has lived in the Worcester area for more than 50 years. Ruby was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Ruby was a homemaker, who took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Her greatest moments were those spent with and around them. She enjoyed cooking for her family, traveling and fishing. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 15th at 10 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 14th in the funeral home.
