James P. O'Hearn, 91, of Worcester, died November 6, 2008 in Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. His wife of 52 years, Alice (Wickson) O'Hearn died in 1998. He leaves his son David O'Hearn of North Oxford; two daughters Maryanne Levasseur and Marie Anderson both of Webster; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Compton; three brothers Philip,Thomas, and John O' Hearn, and three sisters,Katherine Heriihy,Margaret Hendrickson, and Marie Lane. James was born in Worcester, son of the late Patrick F. & Margaret (McGovern) O'Hearn and has lived in Worcester all of his life. He graduated from Classical High School. He served his nation proudly in the United Stated Army, during World War II. Mr. O'Hearn worked as a mail handler for the United States Post Office for over 20 years, before he retired. He enjoyed playing golf, but most of all cherished being with his family. James' funeral will be held Tuesday, November 11th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Friends and family are invited to visit with the family from 5 pm to 8 pm, Monday, November 10th in the funeral home.
