Earl R. McGrath, 62, of 10852 SE 176th Street, in Summerfield, Florida, passed away, Wednesday, November 5, 2008, from complications resulting from Leukemia. Born in Worcester, MA on January 10, 1946, he was the son of Joseph F. McGrath and Clarisse A. (Daigneault) McGrath. He graduated from High School of Commerce in 1966, attended Worcester Junior College and Clark University. He earned an Associates Degree in Business Management. He proudly served our nation in the United States Naval Reserve. He then graduated from the Massachusetts State Police Academy and was assigned to the Department of Mental Health, where he retired as Police Chief of the D.M.H. Police Department. Before moving to Florida, he worked for Carlin, Sharron, and Rosen. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa "Terry" McGrath; two children, a son, Sean R. McGrath and his wife Kim; a daughter, Megan Corrales and her husband Alex all of Worcester; two step daughters, Paula A. Kay and her husband Roland of Worcester, and Shaunna A. Kyle and her husband Rob of Hudson; a brother, Joseph F. McGrath and his wife Carol of Stoneham; three sisters, Margaret Donahue wife of Robert of Worcester, Phyllis Masterson wife of Richard and Rita MacCallum wife of Wayne all of Grafton; three grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. A Mass in celebration of his life will be held Monday, November 10 from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Family will be receiving family and friends on Sunday, November 9, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
