Sylvester "Sully" Budzinski, 84, of Worcester, passed away Friday, October 31st 2008 in his home surrounded by his family. Sully's wife Mary (Ferro) Budzinski passed away in 2003. He is survived by his devoted children Brian Budzinski of Attleboro, Elaine Carilo and her husband Arthur of Worcester; a brother Daniel and his wife Jeanette of Auburn; a sister, Olga Carlson of Worcester; four grandchildren, Paul, Christina, Maria and Jennifer; many nieces and nephews. Sully was born in Webster, a son of Frank and Eleanor (Abramczyk) Budzinski. He grew up in Webster, served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre aboard the Battleships USS Alabama and USS Washington during World War II, and has lived in Worcester most of his life. Sully, worked many years for the City of Worcester at Worcester City Hospital in charge of Stores before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4, and the U.S.S. Washington Retirees Association. He loved Golf and woodworking. His family was his life and his grandchildren his special treasure. The funeral will be held Tuesday, November 4th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Monday, November 3rd from 5 to 7 p.m in the funeral home.
