Charlotte Plumley, 70, of Worcester, died Thursday, October 30, 2008 in UMass Memorial Medical Center. She leaves three brothers, Rollo Plumley of East Berlin, CT, Carmine Plumley of Spencer and Edward Plumley of Holden; four sisters, Jean Letendre of East Berlin, CT, Flora Ayotte of Spencer; Barbara Sandagato of Spencer and Sheila Poulin of Leicester; two special friends, Sofie and Tom Lindsay and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Rita Mae Plumley predeceased her. Charlotte was born in Rutland, Vermont, daughter of Cleo O. and Julia (Petraglia) Plumley. She attended Worcester Girls Trade and graduated from Doherty High School. Charlotte worked as a Consumer Production Specialist for the Seven Hills Foundation, retiring in 2000. Ms. Plumley was a member of the council for Seven Hills Family Services; she volunteered many years for O.T.C. BINGO and for the Social Recreational Center for the Seven Hills Foundation. She has received countless awards, including the Family 1000 Award, presented to her from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Carla Cody Award presented to her from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation and the Outstanding & Ongoing Commitment Award from the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. She also was honored as a "Professional Trail Blazer" for her efforts in the support of individuals with disabilities by the State Senate. Charlotte's funeral will be held Monday, November 3rd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angel's Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour, in the funeral home, will be from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM prior to her funeral.
