Frank Carelli, 89, of Bernard Road in Grafton, passed away, Tuesday, October 21, 2008, in Saint Vincent Hospital. His wife of fifty eight years, Elizabeth M. (Piette) Carelli, passed away in 2000. Frank is survived by his son, Francis A. Carelli and his longtime companion Donna Mattingly of Northbridge; a sister RoseMarie Boswell of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers and a sister, John and Natale Carelli and Marie Kelly. Frank was born in Worcester, the son of Lorenzo and Angela (Losapio) Carelli, where he graduated from Commerce High School. Frank proudly served his nation in The United States Army, during World War II. Mr. Carelli, retired from Westborough State Hospital, where he had been working for many years in the maintenance department, and had previously worked at Grafton State Hospital, until it closed. Before working at the state hospitals, Frank worked as a drop forger, and was plant supervisor for Holbrook Drop Forging in Worcester. He became very proficient in forging, and was placed in charge of many government forging projects through the company. He was a member of Saint Mary's Church in Grafton and the American Legion, Post 92 in Grafton. The funeral Mass for Frank will be held Monday, August 27, at 11 a.m. in Saint Mary's Church, 17 Waterville Street, North Grafton. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
