Mary A. (Mancini) Volpe, 89, of Stanton Street in Worcester, passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 in Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Felix Volpe, passed away in 1998. She leaves a son, Joseph F. Volpe and his wife Mary E. Volpe of Worcester; two daughters, Kathryn Giannetta and her husband Frank of Worcester and Linda Trainor of Princeton; a brother Peter Mancini of Worcester; a sister Josephine DeSimone of Worcester; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mary was pre-deceased by three brothers and two sisters, Pat, Frank, and Matteo Mancini, Nardina Romano, and Louisa DiFranco. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Domenic and Carmella (Ciuffreda) Mancini, and has lived here all her life. Mrs. Volpe was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a walking rose of life. The funeral for Mary will be held Tuesday, October 21, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 23 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, immediately prior to departing for church Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to V.N.A.
