Angel "Tweety" L. Rivera, 49, of Whittier Street in Worcester, passed away, Wednesday, October 15, 2008, in Saint Vincent Hospital, surrounded by his family. He leaves a loving family including his wife of twenty five years, Sandra Rosario-Rivera; a daughter Chastity Coleman of Hartford, CT; two sons, Alexis Marquez of Oxford and Daniel Marquez of Worcester; a granddaughter, Alexis-Danielle Coleman; three sisters in law, Sonia Hernandez of Worcester, Olga Rosario of New York, and Elizabeth Scott of Springfield; a brother in law Gregory Phillips of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was pre-deceased two brothers and a sister, Francisco and Irving Rivera and Migdalia Moreno. Angel was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico, son of the late Francisco and Hermania (Ocasio) Rivera. His family moved to New York, when Angel was an infant, they later moved to Worcester when he was thirteen, and he graduated from Worcester North High School. Mr. Rivera worked as a shipping and receiving supervisor for Baystate Technologies, before taking a leave, due to his illness. He had previously worked for Alloyd Computers. He attended church at Saint Peter's Church, The Cathedral of Saint Paul, but he and his wife found a comfort in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Adelphi Council. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed playing horse shoes. The funeral for Angel will be held Saturday, October 18, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the funeral home, immediately prior to departing for church
