Roderick J. Morgan Jr.

Roderick J Morgan, Jr., 76, of Worcester, died Wednesday Oct 8th at the U Mass Memorial Medical Center after being stricken ill. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances E (Levesauskas) Morgan, a daughter Angela M Mietkiewicz and her husband Steven of Oxford, two sons, Paul P Morgan and his wife Kathleen of Columbia, Tennessee, Roderick J Morgan III of Costa Mesa, California, three brothers, John Morgan, Francis Morgan and his wife Nancy, James Morgan, two sisters, Mary Weir and her husband Richard of Northboro, Ellen Ostergard of Worcester, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Roderick J Morgan and Margaret (Bagin) Morgan. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Vernon Hill American Legion Post #435. He was a retired engineer of 45 years from Innertite Corp (formerly Olson Manufacturing Co) and was employed for 30 years by H & R Block. He was a coach and past president for many years in the Tom Ash Babe Ruth League. He was a member of our Lady of Lourdes church in Worcester. The funeral for Roderick will be held Saturday, October 11, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Tonight, Friday, October 10, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
