Walter "Juny" A. Woodson, Jr., 75, of Austin Street in Worcester, passed away, Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the home of his son. Walter is survived by his loving family, including his wife of fifty eight years, Winnie F. (Brown) Woodson; a daughter, Marsha L. Jackson; a son, Walter "Butch" A. Woodson, III and his wife Rosetta D. Woodson; and his mother Dorothy (Harris) Woodson-Richmond, all of Worcester. He is also survived by an aunt Amelia McNeil of New York City, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thanks to his long time friend, Sandra Jackson. He was born in New York City, son of the late Walter A. Woodson, and has lived most of his life in Worcester. Juny graduated from Worcester Boy's Trade, and then served his nation in The United States Army. Walter worked as a machinist for over thirty two years at Jamesbury Corporation in Worcester, retiring as a manager in 1992. He enjoyed music, bowling, fishing, traveling, and had been an amateur boxer. He was a loving husband, father and son. The funeral for Walter will be held Friday, September 26, at 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Friday morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the funeral home, immediately prior to the funeral service.
