Beverly M. (Christensen) Alward-Jones, 73, of Oxford, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She joins her son, Alfred Alward, and his son, Daniel Alward who both pre-deceased her. She is survived by her family, including her husband of twenty-seven years, Mel Jones; two sons, Paul E. Alward and his wife Susan and Steven D. Alward and his wife Antonette all of Shrewsbury; a daughter in law, Natalia Alward of Millville; six step-children, Karen McIntyre of Oxford, Robert Jones and his wife Kathleen of Leicester, James Jones of Rhode Island, Thomas Jones of Marlborough, Stephen Jones and his wife Marjorie of Monson, and Christopher Jones and his wife Christine of Dudley; a brother, Henry Christensen, Jr. of Mashpee; four sisters, Shirley Fagan of Mendon, Joyce Lloyd of Webster, Ann Griffen of Woodstock, CT, and Lillian Cathline of Dudley; Eight adored grandchildren, Johnathan, Alex, Jennifer, Ana, Krestina, Maxwell, Andrew, and Alfred; as well as many nieces and nephews. Beverly was born in Westborough, the daughter of Henry and Alice (Smith) Christensen. Beverly worked for many years at Digital Equipment Corporation and G.E. Telecron, before she retired. She enjoyed gardening, and was an enthusiastic fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She enjoyed "The Wonder of It All", and trips to Cape Cod, where she could enjoy the salt air and the ocean. Her family, especially her grandchildren, brought her the most joy in life. At her request, there are no services planned.
