Ida L. (Allen) Panczyk, 68, of Worcester died peacefully Thursday August 28, 2008 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Ida is survived by her husband of fifty years John Panczyk, two daughters Louise M. Morgan and her husband Dennis of Worcester, Marie Caron, three sons Richard Panczyk of Webster, Allen Panczyk of Florida, and John W. Panczyk and his wife Regina of Maine, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a nephew Jeffrey Cutting. Ida was predeceased by a brother Richard Allen, and a sister Lyla M. Cutting. Ida was born in Turnbridge Vermont daughter of the late Gardner and Frieda (Fiske) Allen and came to Massachusetts as a child. She was raised in Barre, MA. And lived over twenty five years in Worcester. Ida was a graduate of Barre High School, and received her Master's Degree in Education at the University Of Massachusetts. She was a long time teacher in the Worcester School Department and taught at the Worcester Central, St. Nicholas and Clark St. Schools. After her retirement along with her husband she moved to Florida and worked in sales at Disneyworld for several years before returning to Worcester. Ida enjoyed doing crafts, and knitting, but most of all being with family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday September 5, at 4PM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. There are no calling hours. Interment will be private.
