Gerald H. Maurice, 72, of Northborough, passed away Friday, August 8th 2008 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Gerald is survived by his devoted wife, partner and best friend of 51 years, Muriel M. (Cummings) Maurice; his adored three children, Pamela Dietz of Northborough, her former husband Richard Dietz of Southborough, Teresa "Teri" Muccini and her husband Anthony Muccini, III of Upton, Dan G. Maurice and his wife Susan of Mendon; three cherished grandchildren, Derek & Blake Muccini, and Amy Dietz; Many nieces, nephews, and aunts. Gerald was born in Northborough, son of Henry and Geraldine (Derosier) Maurice. He earned his associates degree from Worcester Junior College, his bachelor's degree from Fitchburg State College. He also earned a Diploma from the National Radio Institute in Washington DC. He has lived in Northboro all his life. Gerald worked for 37 years for Raytheon Company retiring in 1995 as Senior Design Engineer. Gerald also held a Master Electrician's License; He owned and operated his own electronics repair company more than 50 years, Maurice Electronics Repair. Gerald and his wife were enthusiastic Roller Skaters. They skated competitively and were awarded more than 10 various medals for artistic Roller Dance Skating. He was a member and Past President of the former Spin-Around Roller Skating Club. A member of the Milford Roller Skating Club and a longtime member of the RSROA, (Roller Skating Association of America). Gerald enjoyed Camping, Photography, Fishing, Boating, Motorcycling, Designing and Assembling of Electronics Audio Equipment. He also was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and a past member of the Algonquin Campers Association. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 15 Common Street, Southborough, MA 01772. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, August 12th, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester.
