May 26, 1926 — July 30, 2008

Mary (Tomasiello) Delaney, 82, of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, July 30th 2008 in the Memorial Hospital surrounded by her sons. Mary's husband of 54 years Paul R. Delaney passed away in 2006. She is survived by her devoted sons, Kevin Delaney and his wife Lynn of Pinckney, MI and Richard Delaney with whom she lived; a sister, Josephine Arell of Worcester; two grandchildren, Kevin DeLaney Jr. and Leah Delaney; a great grand daughter, Marissa; many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Honorable Anthony Tomasiello passed away in April, and Fiore Tomasiello passed away many years ago. Mary worked for the College of the Holy Cross several years before retiring. She previously worked for Memorial Hospital, the Lincoln and Providence Nursing Homes. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. The funeral will be held Friday, August 1st, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. firends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, July 31st from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
