William R. Couming, 62, of Millbury, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 in Saint Vincent Hospital. He leaves his companion of twenty years, Carol Mahlert, with whom he lived, a son, Vincent C. Couming, Sr. and his wife Elaina of Rutland; two daughters, Nicole Kariko and her husband Max of Rutland and Jessica Couming; two brothers Timothy Couming of New Hampshire and Joseph Couming of Brimfield; three sisters, Grace Ann Dee of Auburn, Veronica Kay of Brookfield and Patricia Boyle of Rhode Island; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. William was born in Worcester, son of Donnell & Grace (Stuart) Couming. He served in the United States Navy. William worked as a Taxi driver for many years before retiring in 2003. Mr. Couming in his earlier years was a Boy Scout, achieving the Eagle Scout Rank. He was free spirited, enjoyed the simplicity of life and was a good hearted person who loved his family and friends very much. He will be missed dearly. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 26th at 6:00 P.M. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
