William E. Blais, 86, formerly of 35 Potter Farm Rd in Auburn passed away Monday, December 24th. His wife of 21 years, Lorraine (Bafaro) Blais passed away in 2003. William is survived by three step sons, Michael R. Gerardi and his wife Doreen of The Woodlands Texas, Glenn F. Gerardi and his wife Cynthia of East Douglas, and Christopher Gerardi and his wife Linda of Greenlawn, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Auburn, MA, the son of Mr.& Mrs. William Blais, Sr. and lived in the Worcester area most of his life. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving the South Pacific aboard an LST and in China as a medic. An avid golfer, he was a member of Worcester Country Club. William worked as a sales engineer many years for Central Supply Company before retiring. The funeral will be held Friday, December 28th from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. with a mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A period of visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, December 28th prior to the mass.
