Thomas Simone

Thomas J. Simone, 88, of West Harmon Ave, Las Vegas, died peacefully March 1, 2008 In the St Francis Home after a brief illness. Thomas is survived by a brother Domenic "Babe" Simone of Worcester, three sisters Mary Bergantine, and Amelia "Mille" Simone both of Worcester, and Lucy Zarette and her husband Domenic of Shrewsbury, many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. He was predeceased by two brothers Giacomo "Jack" Simone, and Maurice Simone, and also a sister Marie Oliveri. Thomas was born in Worcester son of the late Bartolomeo and Angelina (Baldino) Simone and was a graduate of Commerce High School class of "38" While in high school He played baseball in the inter city championships. Thomas moved to California over sixty years ago and settled in the Torrance area where he worked as a professional bartender at Olson's Restaurant in San Pedro for most of his life. He retired to Las Vegas thirteen years ago. Tom was an avid sports fan. He will be missed by his family and friends. A funeral service for Thomas will be held Saturday at 10:00AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St.A calling hour will be held from 9:00AM to 10:00AM prior to the service. Burial will be in St John's Cemetery at the family's convenience.Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Please omit flowers.
